In the spring, Charitable Organization "Charity Fund "Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya" received two large shipments of anti-drone nets from partners from the Association SAFE (France), which are needed by the military and are essential for protecting critical infrastructure from drone attacks. The team of the "Road Angels for Ukraine" organization, as well as representatives of the La Rochelle Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Chambre de Commerce et de l'Industrie de La Rochelle), helped to obtain this important shipment.
Modern warfare constantly generates new demands, and the more people started talking about the so-called "drone warfare", the more pressing the need for protection against enemy drones became. One such measure that has proven effective is special fishing nets, which were previously used to hold heavy loads of fish and are therefore suitable for deterring drone attacks. The Ukrainian Defense Forces have learned to construct barriers from nets that protect positions, military equipment, and energy facilities.
The nets received by the Committee were promptly donated to military units and are already in use in the Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Chernihiv, Zakarpattia, Cherkasy, and Poltava regions. The nets are particularly useful for protecting against fiber optic drones, which, unfortunately, cannot be countered by electronic warfare measures.
The need for various anti-drone measures remains relevant, so we are continuing constructive dialogue with foreign donors in cooperation with our partners.
